Recent Situation at a local company: In a company when someone is hired or gets a promotion it's normal policy that the manager and Human Resource Department notify all parties involved before general employees are notified. This is considered "common courtesy" and helps managers provide a smooth transition. For example: what if you-the student, found out your teacher was being replaced ... and your teacher knew nothing of this. Recently, something similar happen at a local company. Within the last month the "ABC company" interviewed a candidate for a Site Engineering Managers position at their headquarters in North Carolina. The candidate was excited about being hired and posted the name of the company and title he was hired for, on his online resume. Someone from the "ABC Company" noticed the resume . . . the man being replaced had not been notified, none of the engineers in the group were aware of this either. This posting put the company in a very awkward position.
